Message = From 11-23-69, until 3-23-70, after fifteen months with two other teams, I was with the 287th Ord. Det. (EOD), based in Phu Bai at Camp Hochmuth. Our primary task was to provide EOD support to the 101st and all elements of III Marine Amphibious Force. As a result, during the dates noted above, we were on numerous combat operations and CAs with many of the 101st units. My son and I are developing a movie script proposal about EOD and the 101st during the Winter-Spring Offensive 1970. On January 24, 1970, my partner and I were involved in a CA into FSB Davis, YD 252291, which I think was an old 1st Cav. LZ called "Barbara." We were in the first two choppers to land. Along with a team of Pathfinders, our task was to sweep the LZ for mines and booby traps before the Pathfinders brought in the rest of the CA. While on the ground doing my job, something happened and I am looking for other eyewitnesses other than my partner. I want to make sure that my memory for th
e events that happened is accurate and my former partner's memory is hazy, at best. Any help you can give me about Davis or LZ Rifle, YC 246297
