Distribution of goods to evacuees is a problem. If you donate to a local group sending supplies, you may consider making up a "mommy pack". This can be as small as a tupperware container containing a few items a mom will find useful or something larger, containing everything from diapers to animal crackers and a pillow.
(here's the list): crayons paper towels a pillow diapers trail mix animal crackers baby wipes hand lotion chapstick toys toilet paper ink pens notebooks flashlights with batteries and the switch taped "off" washcloths "q" tips baby powder pretzels I packed the whole shebang in rubbermaid container and marked it "MOMMY PACK" The idea is not to make it to large so a mom with kids in tow can grab it and go.
