I don't know if this is the right place for this....
I was in a bar a few years ago and overheard a guy talking about Phu Bai in '69 and the mess he got into.
I walked over and talked to him for a while (because I'm nosey) and it turned out, (I did not recognize him... we both had a few more miles on us) he was the pilot of the Huey that I was a gunner on ! I'm guessing you know that we both proceeded to get stinking drunk while we talked, but it was a great day.

Well that is something. Similar thing happened to me with a guy years ago at a Hote "happy Hour". He turned out to be a LRRP that I shot Delta Tangos for many many times. Small world. And you know we too had the same end result.

I hope that you kept up after your chance meeting I regret that I did not. Back in about 1970 I was in a bar in Garfield NJ. ond one of the guy's that were on the guns of B btry 5 Bn 42 Arty. happened to be there I was FDC and was always talking to the guns and from some where behinde me I heard the voice andknew that I knew it. I turned around and thee was George Coombs one of my gunners, but I managed to lose track of him something I now deeply regret. We all grow older but old comrades are heart warming no matter how bad the situation was when we were first together. Don't make the mistake I did of losing track we all have a special bond. bhay
