Dear Shortimer Sam,
We wish to request what we are told is the C, or perhaps XC folder, of our Vietnam casualty. When VA was called in 1998, we were told a file on him did not exist. When we were urged to call again in 2000, we were originally told that we could have a copy, then later told that it was "not there" and "does not exist"...this after I was given his VA Claim Folder number. Does anyone know the place and/or procedures for obtaining the VA files? We can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone at the regional VA office. #nosmileys
