i medevaced a Marine whose nick name was 'slim' in 1970. lima co 3rd bn 1st marines namo bridge area, i believe his last name was thomas. cpl thomas, if anyone has an answer leave message. cpl thomas was a black marine. as i remember it we were going to an ambush site at night. what i remember that night was i heard a sound i turned and then i saw the muzzle flash and all hell broke loose. what i heard later was that ' charlie ' had slipped in between the m-60s and me who was carring the prc-25. we did medevac 'slim' out and we heard that he lived. also to the two cobra gunships silver fish 1 and 2 thanks for the cover that you gave the medevac while we loaded 'slim; aboard. i would just like to say. welcome home and talk to his parents or family members.....
