Dear Sam.
I have a question that might seem trivial, but every time I see pictures or film on the news about our troops, no matter where they might be in the world, I always notice that the flag that is on their shoulder is not displayed correctly. I have always been one to show the utmost respect for our flag, and whenever I notice people displaying it incorrectly I try to inform them of the correct way to display the flag. I spent 13 months in Nam in 65-66, so I don't want to come off as some kind of person against the military. I'm proud of my country and my service in the U.S. Army.

I got the answere for my question about the flag being displayed on the uniforms of our fighting men. It must have bothered a lot of people because it was answered by a local TV station here in Chicago land. They said it was to show that our troops were moving forward all the time and that it was a message for Saddam that we were going to get him.

A very popular question with those of us who were taught that the flag is always displayed with the stars fiels to the left. I asked the same question and was directed to the AR covering the wearing of awards and decorations (AR 670-1,?). Also if you can find a picture of Air Force One (president plane) look at the tail fin.
