Name: Shirley deMello
I am looking for assistance in finding records for my deceased husband David G DeMello service #773 32 96. He served in the USN from January 1964 to March 1965. He served in Viet Nam on the USS Lenawee as a coxswain mate. He developed Lung Cancer in 1998 and passed away in June 2002 with mets to the brain from the lung cancer. He was 55. I have a claim with the VA for disabilty from Agent Orange, but they want proof that he went to shore in the 'republic of Viet Nam'. This proof can be for any brief time. His job was taking marines to shore in 'papa boats'. Or if the USS Lenawee docked anywhere in Vietnam for a brief period of time. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated for acquiring information for widows benefits.
Thank you, Shirley A DeMello email sdemello87@aol.com
