Dear Mom + Dad
I recieved the cookies and the scotch
a couple of days ago. Believe me I had
a feast and a wild drunk. Now that I'm
20 all I have is two years left in the
green machine. I also have five months
over here so that means that I have a
maximum of eight left. Now if you figure
that along with the fact that thirty days
prior to my leaving I don't have to out in
the bush, I'm moving along pretty fast. Of
course if I get stationed on the east coast
when I get back then I might go overseas
again but the other way this time. I would
be nice if I could get to see Europe instead
of the Orient again.
Now for the big thing. I recieved Dad's
letter yesterday, and well, I don't really know.
I'll tell you hwat happend when I read that
last paragraph. I had a beer in my hand
and when I read it I nearly choked to
death. Around the first of December huh?
I can't figure it out yet because here it is.
I left in July 66 which cut down on
your taxes, food bills and gave you more
space in the house. Now you go and add
another one or two (might have twins).
When I read it I sat down and figured that
when he or she is my age I'll be 40 1/2
which makes me an old man. Well anyway,
five isn't too bad but just think if it's
twins, triplets, etc. It will be just like
starting all over again and Mom wanted
to wait untill all of us were grown so
she could take it easy. Alright Mom!
As for a name, well I haven't had much
time to think about it except for maybe
Alphonse, Rasputin, Elmer or Bertha, Gertrude
or Asophita. Not bad but I'll think a little
harder I guess.
Your son, (still no. 1)
