Dear Mom + Dad
I recieved your letter the
other day. The one in which
you mentioned the gun, pills
and cake. I realize why you
can't send the pills so that's
okay. About the gun though,
since it's going to be difficult
to get one and send it I'll see
what I can do here. In this
outfit there very strict about
having your own weapons.
But that doesn't mean much
now because I will be transfered
pretty soon. I was told that I
would go to either the 5th or
7th Marines. I was pretty happy
when I heard about this because
both of them are much better
outfits. It looks like I will
be going about the 25th, so
as soon as I get my new
address I'll send it. When that
happens give it to everyone
who writes to me. By the way
I haven't recieved any issues of
the Dearborn Press. If they
send them overseas then when
I get my new address give
it to them.
I'm sending my birth certificate
home because I don't need it here.
I would also like you to check
on my drivers license because
it expires this July 5th. It seems
that while in servie they
grant an extension for it.
I would also like to know when
Nanna's birthday is. I think
it was about this time of the
year. Also tell Marty that I'll
try and send him something for
his confirmation. It may not
reach him in time but it
will get there.
I would like to wrap myself
up and send me home but that's
rather hard. Anyway time has
been going by pretty fast. It's hard
to imagine that I have been here
for over a month now. The only
way I can keep track of time
is that every sunday we
get our malaria pills. Other
than that I don't know what
day it is. Well I guess that's
about all except thank grandma
for writing that letter to me.

Clyde
