Abraham, Martin & John by Dion #1 song on AFVN network on Jan 1st 1968 countdown. Hey Jude was #2 Suzzie Q and Lite My Fire by the Doors But mostly I remember the daily music the Disc Jockey played on Vietnam radio network. I think his name was Grant--maybe Johnny or Larry. He had worked for WDIA or WLOK in Memphis--so he played a lot of Booker T, Carla Thomas, Bobby Womack, Eddie Floyd, Al Green, The Box Tops, Tyrone Davis, Solomon Burke, Clarence Carter, Rufus Thomas along with the Isley Bros, Ray Charles, Percy Sledge, Sam Cook, Otis Redding, Etta James, Gene Chandler, the Impressions along with a little bit of Elvis. Most people there didn't know anything about the music from The Bluff City, especially those from the West Coast--but they soon learned. David Giovanetti Chu Lai--68 & 69
