589th Co. D, Eng. Batt.

Was in the 589th Company D, Eng. Batt. Built airstrip at An Khe Pass for special forces. Need any information anyone could give me about this airstrip. It was bombed around June-July 1967. Worked with 815th Batt. in Pleiku and station on the 101st compoun at Pleiku. Am trying to get some information concerning this bombing of the airstrip.
Would appreciate anything anyone could give me about this.

I was with the 589th Engr. D. Company that built the airstrip near the base of Ankhe Pass in 1967. We called the place "Happy Valley" and I have a few pictures that show the construction etc.
