SEPT. 6, 1967 ENGINEERS FIND GOOD QUARRY DUC PHO An order to stockpile rock recently resulted in the discover and expansion of a highly productive quarry site two miles south of Duc Pho. Company D, 29th Engineer Battalion (Combat), 45th Engineer Group, under the command of Captain Charles Travis, is presently operating the quarry. Within two weeks of its opening, the total production of this quarry had reached 1200 cubic yards of rock. Company D Engineers are also operating a number of other quarry sites in the Due Pho area. Using only a compressor and a few hand drills, their most productive quarry in the area yields an average of more than 400 cubic yards of rock per day.
