Where = Viet Nam When = 1965-1968 Message = Ernie was with the 1st Bde of the 101st, when they arrived in VN. He was my Platoon Sargent with Alpha Company. When the 101st went airmobile, he became First Sargent for Delta Company and asked me to become one of his Platoon Sargents. I did and we separated when his DEROS date came near. I sent him out on his last flight out of A Shau Valley. We went through a lot together and I'd like to find out how things are going for him now. I learned an awful lot from him and I think he may have learned a little from me. He had been a Ranger Instructor and I was a Pathfinder. What a combination!
I understand that he had two boys and was in the process of divorce when he left VN. Submitted_from_email = b2feathers1948@yahoo.com

Hello Bill- My name is Wayne Snyder and I knew a Bill Hudek in Aco 2/502 in 1968. He carried the M79. I have been trying to locate some of the guys from A company. I have been in contact with Edwin Tubbs, do you remember him. Perhaps you remember Micheal Mc Namara, Paul Sargent or Alfred Vaz. These are some of the guys I am trying to find. My e:mail is SneezyWPS@aol.com
Thanks, Wayne Snyder (airborne)

Sneezy, Can't say I reUser you, but I do reUser Buzzy Vaz, who was from Rock River, Mass. We stayed drunk on the LST from Saigon to Da Nang after we left Cholon. Mike MacNamra was from Anoka, MN. I understand he died in a housefire back in the early '70. Paul Sargent? Don't reUser him. Yes, I humped a '79 and everything else back then. I got rid of it after going into A Shau, though. Picked up the '60, from Terry Larrabee and eventually took over Bullock's squad. Finally ended up walking point, as a PLT SGT with Delta Co, when Division went Airmobile. Even had a recon team with delta Co. Used it to stay away from the CO. It was a mutual distaste arrangement.I was still an e-4 when I hit Delta Co, but "acting jack" with "hard fives" under me, what a trip. My camo cover had the five stripes with a ? under it! Sure confused a heck of a lot of people, especially the cherries. ;D Oh well. Welcome home. We survived it. I'll email you. My email is b2feathers1948. Lots of changes for me in the past five years, including my name and sex. All of these are for the better though. Oh! I almost forgot! I have email addresses for Col Howard Danforth, "Doc Blood"(Lee Pugh) and Darrel Austin too.
