Rob George McSorley was born March 26, 1951 and killed in the A Shau Valley, Vietnam on April 8, 1970 at the age of 19. He is buried in Royal Oaks Cemetery, Burnaby, B. C., Canada. He was in the Army between 6-11-1968 to 4-8-1970. Rob served in Alaska, 1-11-1969 to 11-5-1969. When killed, he was assigned as an E4 Ranger LRP Scout Observer with Co L (Ranger) 75th Infantry USARPAC (Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (w/ 1 bronze service star), Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Expert Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/ Device (1960), Sharpshooter Badge (w/ Auto Rifle Bar with Machine Gun Bar with Rifle Bar), Parachutist Badge-Basic, Ranger Tab. Republic of Vietnam: Gallantry Cross with Silver Star. Rob's AAVETtown was Vancouver BC, Canada and is a VIP of the Templeton Secondary School of 1968.
