I got to Nam the day Nixon was elected, Nov.4th 1968! After volunteering for the 1st Bde. 4th Div. LRRP's was sent to Dak To ! Once at camp I was shown my bunk, I think there were 8 cots to a tent! I remembered thinking how paranoid of malaria these guys were! Because everyone of them had insect nets over their cots and tucked under their air mattresses! So about 2am my first night there, I got woke up by three good sized rats playing on my chest! The next night I had anet up!! 1st of the 4th LRRP's Al Kidd 229 adkidd@gateway.net <adkidd@gateway.net>
