Distribution of goods to evacuees is a problem. If you donate to a local group sending supplies, you may consider making up a "mommy pack". This can be as small as a tupperware container containing a few items a mom will find useful or something larger, containing everything from diapers to animal crackers and a pillow.

(here's the list):
crayons
paper towels
a pillow
diapers
trail mix
animal crackers
baby wipes
hand lotion
chapstick
toys
toilet paper
ink pens
notebooks
flashlights with batteries and the switch taped "off"
washcloths
"q" tips
baby powder
pretzels
I packed the whole shebang in rubbermaid container and marked it "MOMMY PACK"
The idea is not to make it to large so a mom with kids in tow can grab it and go.

Place in a typical blue plastic “Wal-Mart” grocery bag:
• 1 dark wash cloth & 1 dark hand towel
• (so that if you cannot wash them the dinginess is not as depressing)
• 1 regular size bar of soap
• 1 toothbrush
• 1 tube of toothpaste
• 1 comb, a metal nail file & nail clippers
• 6 or more band aids
• Deodorant
• Shampoo
• Wet Wipes/Travel Pack
• a prayer to bring comfort to someone in need
Make a care packet designed especially for a man (mark with M, a woman (mark with W, or a child (mark with C).
Each of those packets would contain packaged socks and packaged underwear for that particular gender.
The man’s packet could include packaged t-shirts, shaving cream and razors.
The woman’s packet could include feminine products.

You will list the items here and a victim will contact you by email. You will then mail the item directly to the victim in care of "General Delivery" at the nearest functioning US Post Office to the victim. 20 pound boxes or less. Double taped and contents labeled on 2 sides.
